Nourishing Ayurvedic Hot Chocolate

In Ayurveda, the carefully chosen combination of cacao, cinnamon and ginger provides a touch of warmth, making it ideal for all Dosha types during the colder season.

I hope you’ll enjoy this recipe,  a delightful fusion of rich cacao and aromatic spices.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

1 to 2 tablespoons cacao powder (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (if you don’t like the taste of ginger, skip it)

Sweetener of choice (sugar, honey, maple syrup) to taste

Optional: a pinch of cardamom for added warmth and flavor (my favourite winter spice )

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.

2. Gradually whisk in the cacao powder, ensuring it dissolves completely into the milk.

3. Add the ground cinnamon and ginger to the mixture and or cardamom. Stir well to combine.

5. Continue to heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired temperature.

6. Taste the hot chocolate and sweeten to your liking using sugar, honey, or maple syrup.

7. Once everything is well combined and heated through, pour the nourishing Ayurvedic hot chocolate into your favorite mug and enjoy the cozy goodness!

Let each sip be a moment of relaxation and nourishment for both body and soul! Enjoy!
